Fall Transition Outfits: What To Wear When Georgia Can't Pick a Season

Fall Transition Outfits: What To Wear When Georgia Can't Pick a Season

Let's be honest, "fall" in Georgia is more of a suggestion than a season. One day it's still 88 degrees and you're side-eyeing every pumpkin display, and the next it's cool enough for a cardigan by the time you're picking up the kids. Consider this your official PSA: your closet needs a plan for both.

The good news? You don't need a whole new wardrobe. You need a few good pieces that flex.

Dress For 3pm, Not 9am

Here's the trick our regulars have figured out...dress for the middle of the day, then layer for the ends of it. A breezy linen-blend dress does the heavy lifting from lunch with the girls straight through pickup line, and a light cardigan or jacket rides shotgun in your car or bag for whenever the temperature drops its little attitude.

That's really the whole secret to a fall transition outfit: one true piece, one layer, done.

Build It Like A Bundle, Not A Splurge

We're big believers in the three-piece rule around here: instead of one pricey statement piece, grab a top, a bottom, and a layer that all mix and match with what's already hanging in your closet. Cuter outfits, more options, less guilt at checkout. Everybody wins!

Our new fall arrivals  are full of pieces built exactly for this — easy patterns, rich fall colors, fabrics that won't melt you at noon or freeze you at 8pm.

The Occasions Are Already On Your Calendar

Farmers market Saturday. A friend's birthday dinner. The first tailgate of the season. Every single one of those deserves a "this is so me" outfit, not a "well, it was clean" outfit, and every one of them can be solved with pieces you already own plus one or two new ones.

So who's ready for a cute new outfit? Come see us downtown, tell us what's on your calendar this month, and we'll help you build a little transitional capsule that actually works for your real life (not just Pinterest's). Not local? That's okay because we update our online shop weekly, and are always happy to answer any questions here!

Stop by and say hi, we've got new arrivals on the racks every Friday, and we always have an honest opinion on hand. 💛

XOXO,

Cameron

Spring into Style!

Spring is coming, and we could not be more excited about it! I am personally really tired of the cold and ready for the warmer weather. I know I am not the only one! Magnolia is getting ready for spring with all of our new pieces coming in. We just wanted to take the time to give you some heads up on what you should be looking for this coming season. First is the color yellow. Not just any shade, but specifically the light pastel yellow, or how Cameron likes to call it "butter yellow". It is being seen all over the place, and we have several pieces we think you will love in this color! Another trend that has been seen pop up for a few years now is two-piece sets. They are so easy to throw on and look fantastic. Simple but makes you look like you got it all together! Last but not least are maxi dresses. Over the past few years this length of dress has become more and more popular. The ones we have in store are some of my favorites. It is perfect for the slightly cooler weather of spring to transition into summer. Hoping you all have a great start to this spring season, and happy shopping!

Fall and Winter Upcoming Trends

The fall season is in full swing, and winter is not too far around the corner! With that being said, here are some fashion trends that are peaking out and expected to take off this season. First, the colors dark cheery red, and olive/dark green are both colors that are going to be seen a lot this autumn and winter. Not entire outfits but pops of these colors are so cute and add just enough color to a simple fall or winter look to elevate it to match the season. Speaking of color, a huge trend we are seeing is matching your shoes with your purse. This makes your outfit looked put together and intentional. Not a hard thing to do, yet it can really build your style. Trend number three, which I personally love is wearing skirts. Whether it is long and flowy or tight and short, this is such a cute transitional fall look! Short skirts with tall boots is becoming a very popular way to showcase your favorite pair of boots that you own. Great fall skirt materials are leather, pleather, wool blends, and corduroy. All of these will keep you warm and stylish! Suede items are coming onto the scene as well! Whether that be in the actual outfit or in the accessories, like a hat or belt. Belts are becoming a hugely popular accessory to add to any fall or winter outfits. To put both together would be accomplishing both trends at the same time! This is just a simple overview of some of the trends coming into the light this season. Magnolia Moon has tons of classy options to help you achieve these looks. Watch our YouTube channel as I go into more details about what is listed above! Fall Trends 2024

Fall or Halloween

It is of my own personal belief that a woman is either a fall girly or a Halloween girly. This does not mean that they can't like both, however I think every girl gravitates to one or the other. A big tell is how they choose to decorate their house in the months of September-November. A fall girl will have aesthetic, cute pumpkins whereas a Halloween girl will have Jack-O-Lanters. Here at Magnolia Moon, we have both! Cameron is definitely a Halloween girl, where I am more of a fall girl. Both of us love the store front this time of year and the clothes offered, as well as themed home items. Since we appear to both kinds of girls, here are a few fun examples of what we have in store to show off the spirit! Be you this season! Which ever is your favorite is welcomed here!

Transitional Outfits for Fall

It's about that time of the year where us girls never know how to dress to match the weather. Do we wear short sleeves, or do we wear a jacket? Sometimes we need both in one day! That's just all part of transitioning into fall, am I right?! Fall is such a fun season with pumpkin spiced everything, the smell of apples, Halloween, and Thanksgiving. Magnolia Moon has just the right style to keep you feeling your best while also looking your best this fall! Wearing jeans with a busier top, then adding a simple jacket if needed is a perfect everyday look for the season. It adds some character to your outfit, but if it gets too hot then the jacket can come off and your outfit is still looking top notch! We also have a few different thinner long sleeve options that work so well with transitioning from summer clothes to winter clothes. Both are extreme, so here we love our thinner but still long sleeve dresses and shirts. Keeps us warm and cool at the same time, all while looking cute and fall themed! Check out these outfits made from the clothes we have in store and online! Happy Fall!!

XOXO,

Kayla
